try one of the free shooters. i recommend alliance of valiant arms. it’s still got that "free shooter" feeling, but it’s probably the best on out right now.

if you don’t mind spending money, give killing floor a shot. it’s a co-op FPS where you and your teammates (up to six) fight oncoming waves of different monsters, eventually leading up to the big boss called the patriarch. he’s armed with a gatling gun, a rocket launcher, can cloak and heal, so it can get pretty intense.

have you ever heard of runescape?? its a huge multiplayer game that u can play across the globe, its free or you can have a membership, this is really no difference just that there are somethings that you cant do but still its a blast, there are different worlds so you will just have to be in the same world to chat, if your son is to young then he might not be able to chat, young people have to use this quick chat deal, but u can just bump up his age there is no difference, i hope i helped you

Guild Wars VERY ADDICTIVE its free but you need to buy it in store.
Also there is free realms its new and oddly fun.
wizard 101 its sort of free.

I’ve seen fathers and sons signing up, grandmothers with their daughters and granddaughters even O.O

Two that come to mind are Americas Army and quakelive.com
I would recommend quakelive it’s the old Quake 3 multiplayer deathmatch and it runs straight out of a browser, really smooth.

turn off your pop up blocker or allow pop ups from that site. your wireless access has nothing to do with your comp running the game program.
